I am currently employed by the City of Dallas under the Department of Housing. Through this agency I have taken a special interest in the environmental impact of rural development and agricultural planning.
I have an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts, with a 6 month study abroad in the United Kingdom. I have worked in several high-end kitchens, including the Park City Club, Methodist Health Systems and the Hanbury Manor Hotel. My culinary background has laid the foundation for my desire to learn more about land use, urban planning, and community development.
My bachelor’s degree gave me the technical skills needed to manage and complete large projects, along with enhancing my knowledge in organizational behavior, human reasoning and decision making.
I am currently listed as a chef with the Department of Agriculture’s, Chefs Move to Schools Initiative. I have volunteered as a chef instructor with the North Texas Food Bank, where I taught homeless families sustainable cooking techniques. I have also volunteered with local churches as a planner for local community gardens, and I am a mentor to my Little Tori through the BIG Brothers and Sisters Program.
